What is Arc?

Arc is an open EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain built by Circle for stablecoin-native financial applications. USDC is the native gas token, and the network targets sub-second deterministic finality for payments, FX, treasury, and onchain markets. Dune indexes Arc under the arc schema namespace with standard EVM raw tables and ABI-decoded contract data.

Key Features

  • USDC as gas: Transaction fees are paid in USDC, so costs stay dollar-denominated rather than tied to a volatile native token. Native value fields and the ERC-20 USDC interface use different decimal scales (see below).
  • EVM compatibility: Deploy Solidity contracts with standard Ethereum tooling (Hardhat, Foundry, Viem). Arc targets the Osaka EVM baseline.
  • Sub-second finality: Malachite BFT consensus produces deterministic finality in under one second, with no probabilistic reorg window.
  • Stablecoin-native design: Native USDC, plus first-class support for assets such as EURC, underpins payments, FX, lending, and agentic settlement.

EVM Specifics on Dune

  • Schema namespace: arc (query as arc.blocks, arc.transactions, etc.).
  • Chain ID: 5042 (mainnet). Transaction chain_id is stored as 0x13b2.
  • Native gas token: USDC. Transaction and trace value fields use 18 decimals. The ERC-20 interface at 0x3600000000000000000000000000000000000000 uses 6 decimals. Both views share the same underlying balance — do not treat them as separate assets, and do not mix the two decimal scales.
  • Raw tables: blocks, transactions, logs, traces, creation_traces.
  • Decoded infrastructure: arc.contracts, arc.signatures, arc.logs_decoded, arc.traces_decoded.
  • Standard token events: erc20_arc.evt_*, erc721_arc.evt_*.
